Our Story
Plastiwraps was established by Simon Lea-Armstrong, who is the proprietor. Plastiwraps supplies and installs window films, architectural films, signs and graphics for residential, commercial, hospitality and retail sectors.
How It Started
An engineer by trade, I had worked in aviation for nearly 40 years when I decided I wanted to be my own boss. I’d always had an interest in window films and how they worked. I’d even fitted them at some of the places I’d worked over the years. I now have many years’ experience of installing them and, more importantly, listening to the customers’ needs and selecting the right film for the job.
With architectural films, I had a contact at the importer for LG Hausys films. This was my way into this sector and the long learning curve ahead of me.
The signs and graphics came later, after having to turn away jobs for frosted house names and numbers. I’m no sign maker but concentrate on the frosted house names, numbers, shop names, acrylic frosted plaques, etc.
To this day, I still operate as a sole trader. I don’t employ and I don’t sub-contract. I feel this gives the customer some assurance knowing that the person doing the survey is the same person doing the installation.
